Typhoon Faxai insurance claims could reach $9 billion

U.S.-based catastrophe risk modeling solutions provider Risk Management Solutions Inc. expects typhoon Faxai insurance and reinsurance payouts of $5 billion to $9 billion in Japan, Artemis reports. RMS' estimate includes property damage and business interruption for the typhoon which made landfall in Japan's Chiba prefecture on Sep. 9.
