Daimler fined nearly $1 billion for emissions violation

German automaker Daimler AG has been fined €870 million ($955 million) for diesel emissions-related violations, Auto Car reports. Since 2008, the company has sold around 684,000 cars that do not comply with European Union-mandated regulations on nitrogen oxide emissions.
