Global drug supply chain hit after impurities found

Interruptions are affecting the global drug supply chain after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found impurities in over-the-counter medicines, Fierce Pharma reports citing The Hindu Business Line. Indian pharmaceutical firm Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. has stopped the worldwide distribution of its heartburn drug after the FDA suspected the formation of a cancer-causing impurity during the manufacturing of the medicine.
