Forest fires have destroyed more than 800,000 acres of land in Indonesia, The Washington Post reported citing the Associated Press. The fires have blanketed the region in a thick, toxic smoke cloud that has sickened people and endangered wildlife, including the endangered orangutan population in Borneo.
