Gallagher acquires Ohio insurance agency

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. on Thursday said it has acquired Powell, Ohio-based Andrew Insurance Associates Inc., an independent agency that offers niche coverage for schools, hotels and grocery stores.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Andrew President Michael J. Clark and his team will continue to operate from Powell under the direction of Cindy LaMantia, head of Gallagher’s Great Lakes region property/casualty brokerage operations, and Tom Lannen, head of Gallagher’s Great Lakes region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations, Rolling Meadows, Illinois-based Arthur J. Gallagher said in a statement.

"The Andrew Insurance team helps us to further build our presence in the Columbus, Ohio, area and brings us additional strengths in practice areas that we are looking to grow and expand," J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president and CEO, said in the statement.

All 15 Andrew staff will be joining Gallagher, a spokeswoman said via email.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is the world’s fourth-largest insurance brokerage, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
