Storm-related claims to surpass $200 million

Spain's Consortium of Insurance Compensation expects insurance claims related to storm gota fría to reach €190 million ($210 million), Maurica Today reported. The storm hit southern Spain in mid-September, flooding 46,000 hectares of land in Valencian Community, with lemons and oranges being the most affected products. Farmers' unions expect the storm to have caused €200 million worth of damage to agriculture, with damage extending to the fruit orchards of Cieza and the rest of the Ricote valley.
