Storms cause $1.4 billion in damage to crops, property

SR Mohanty, chief secretary of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, said that recent heavy rains and floods have caused an estimated 100 billion Indian rupees ($1.4 billion) worth of damage to crops and property, Money Control reported citing the Press Trust of India. The rains caused about INR 80 billion to crops and INR 20 billion in damage to homes, roads, buildings and property.
