A group of eight Clyde & Co partners who represent insurers and practice in areas including cyber, professional malpractice and intellectual property have left the firm to start their own firm.

The London-based law firm said in a statement Monday, “We can confirm that a San Francisco-based group, led by Joan D'Ambrosio and Bill Casey, focused on insurance coverage and monitoring work is leaving our US practice.

“We wish the team well as they set up an independent law firm and are working amicably and constructively with them to achieve as smooth a transition as possible for all parties.”

According to Clyde & Co’s biography, Ms. D’Ambrosio concentrates her practice on representing insurers in technology and media errors and omissions claims, including matters involving intellectual property issues, as well as data security and privacy breaches.

Mr. Casey practices in the area of professional liability insurance coverage and litigation. He defends lawyers in legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty actions. His practice also involves defending insurers and reinsurers in complex insurance coverage actions and arbitrations.

Others who have left are:

-Julie Hawkinson, who practices in the area of insurance coverage and defense, representing insurers in connection with policies including technology and cyber liability, intellectual property, infringement liability, professional liability and directors and officers liability.

-David Jordan, who practices in the area of professional liability, representing professionals including architects, engineers, attorneys and real estate brokers against professional malpractice claims, and insurers.

-Christina Marshall, who practices in the area of professional liability insurance coverage, principally focusing on representing insurers in connection with claim-made policies issued to architects and engineers.

-Eric Moon, who represents insurers on policies including E&O policies issued to attorneys, architects, engineers, real estate agents, insurance brokers, business managers, accountants and other professionals.

-Jamison R. Narbaitz, who represents insurers in connection with cyber/privacy, technology, E&O, media liability, data breach, consumer class actions and intellectual property claims.

-Christina Terplan, who practices in the areas of technology, intellectual property and privacy law, representing insurers on issues ranging from coverage evaluations and disputes to litigation management.

All the attorneys, except for Mr. Jordan, who has been based in Atlanta, have been based in San Francisco, according to their biographies.
