Huawei's African smartphone market share falls amid trade war

U.S.-based market intelligence firm International Data Corp. said that China-based Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.'s share of the African smartphone market fell to 8.7% from 11.8% in the last quarter due to the U.S.-China trade war, South China Morning Post reported. George Mbuthia, an analyst at IDC East Africa, said that distributors have reduced their purchases of Huawei products due to uncertainty created by the U.S. ban.
