Protesters cause hundreds of millions of dollars in damage

The protests in Hong Kong have caused billions of Hong Kong dollars in damage in the past three months, Global Times reported. The Transport Department said that HKD 8 million ($76,295) have been spent on repairing damaged railings, HKD 150 million on maintaining road facilities and police equipment, and nearly HKD 4.2 million on repairing traffic lights. Moreover, the protests are expected to have caused air cargo losses of HKD 15 billion.
