Kenya loses nearly $300 million to cyber attacks

A report by Kenya-based consulting firm Serianu Ltd. said that the country lost nearly 30 billion Kenyan shillings ($286 million) to cyber attacks in 2018, Standard Digital reports. This has opened up new opportunities for local insurers. Kenyan insurer Britam Holdings Ltd. recently unveiled a cyber insurance cover via its subsidiary Britam General Insurance.
