California’s Division of Workers Compensation has issued an order modifying its evidence-based treatment guidelines for work-related hip and groin disorders.

The changes involved two addendums to the workers compensation medical treatment utilization schedule and incorporate the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine’s most recent hip and groin disorders guidelines, the agency said Thursday in a statement.

The order requires that providers use the ACOEM hip and groin disorder treatment guidelines released April 24, 2019, in lieu of the 2011 guidelines. The order will take effect Oct. 7, 2019.
