Jardine Lloyd accused of selling overpriced policies

At least seven councils of the Australian state of Victoria have filed a class-action lawsuit against insurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group PLC, The Age reports. The councils allege that ratepayers across the state overpaid property insurance premiums by up to 50% following JLT's recommendation. The insurance broker recommended an insurance plan which benefited it financially, they said.
