Aviva appoints chief operating officer

U.K.-based insurer Aviva PLC has appointed Erica Arnold to the newly-created position of chief operating officer, Reuters reports. In the new role, Ms. Arnold will be responsible for operations, customer strategy and information technology. She will join Aviva from Zurich Insurance Group Ltd.
