Trade dispute forces LG Chem to seek new suppliers

South Korea-based LG Chem Ltd. is seeking new suppliers for automotive battery parts due to a trade dispute between Japan and South Korea, Plastics News reported citing sources. LG is currently testing products from South Korean pouch film maker YouIChon Chemical Co. Ltd. while previously the company relied on Japan-based Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd. and Showa Denko KK for pouches for its lithium-ion batteries, the sources said.
