California insurance brokerage expands

Woodland Hills, California-based Liberty Company Insurance Brokers said Monday it is partnering with Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Moody Insurance Group in its first venture outside California.
Privately held Liberty, which offers a broad array of commercial coverages, said in its announcement that Moody Insurance specializes in business, marine, aviation and personal insurance for the Southeast.
It said in its announcement that the deal, terms of which were not disclosed, lays the groundwork for more national growth, and is the first of several transactions Liberty plans to complete this year as part of its expansion outside California.
