Number of cargo thefts surges in Singapore Straits
Posted On: Aug. 23, 2019 5:25 AM CSTA report found that 14 cargo thefts occurred in the Singapore Straits so far this year compared with just 13 thefts between 2015 and 2018, The Straits Times reported. The report by the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against ships in Asia found that thieves mostly stole scrap metals from barges in the strait.
