Cargo thefts put regional trade at risk

Kenyan authorities said that cargo thefts have increased along the northern corridor which connects the Port of Mombasa to East and Central Africa, costing shippers millions of Kenyan shillings in losses, Business Daily reported. The coast security committee said that cargo thefts are threatening to disrupt regional trade between Kenya and Uganda, Rwanda, Congo and South Sudan and scaring away importers and shippers.
