Typhoon losses $850 million: Air Worldwide
Posted On: Aug. 16, 2019 6:44 AM CSTU.S.-based risk modeling firm AIR Worldwide Corp. expects insured losses from typhoon Lekima to exceed 6 billion Chinese yuan ($853 million) in China, Asia Insurance Review reports. The typhoon made landfall in Chinese city Taizhou on Aug. 10. Lekima particularly affected travel, tourism, and shipping, with train, plane, and bus travel being suspended, and ships being recalled.
