Ride-hailing companies face suspension

Traffic regulators in Shanghai said that car-hailing service providers DiDi Chuxing Inc. and Meituan-Dianping could face suspension after failing to comply with laws on unqualified drivers, ZDNet reported. The regulators found that more than 82% of drivers at DiDi lacked adequate qualifications, while nearly 16% of drivers at Meituan failed to meet requirements this month. The regulator has already fined DiDi 5.5 million Chinese yuan ($781,000) and Meituan CNY 1.5 million for non-compliance.
