Nigerian insurers prefer acquisitions by foreign counterparts

The National Insurance Commission of Nigeria said that local insurers often prefer being acquired by foreign entities than merging with local counterparts, Punch reports. The foreign insurers that have taken over local counterparts include Prudential Africa P.L.C., AXA Mansard Insurance P.L.C., Allianz S.E. and Old Mutual Ltd.
