Kenya Re eyes expansion in Middle East, Africa

Kenya Reinsurance Corp. Ltd. has increased its capital to fuel an expansion its operations in the Middle East, North Africa and West Africa this year, Pulse Live reported. Jadiah Mwarania, Kenya Re's managing director, said that increasing competition, low premium rates, domestication of reinsurance business in key markets and changing treaty structures towards excess-of-loss are hampering the reinsurer's growth at home.
