Daimler could face fines exceeding $1 billion for emissions cheating

German prosecutors are expected to fine automaker Daimler A.G. up to €1 billion ($1.1 billion) for diesel emissions-related violations, Euronews reported citing sources. Germany's motor vehicle authority had discovered cheating software fitted in Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class vehicles and ordered the carmaker to recall 280,000 vehicles, the sources said.
