Japan looks to export disaster risk mitigation technology

Japan's government is partnering with local companies to export technologies and infrastructure to mitigate disaster risk in developing countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, The Japan News reported. The Japan International Public-Private Association for Disaster Risk Reduction will provide technologies such as earthquake and tsunami observation facilities and civil engineering to prevent disaster-related losses in catastrophe-prone countries. Under the program, the association will also provide communication systems, weather radars, and techniques to create hazard maps and build earthquake-resistant infrastructure.
