Blackout hits businesses in Indonesia

The Indonesian Retailers Association said that an Aug. 4 power outage affected 82 shopping centers and more than 2,500 stores and is likely to cause 200 billion Indonesian rupiah ($14 million) in losses, The Straits Times reported. Sarman Simanjorang, an official at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the blackout is likely to cost businesses in Jakarta trillions of Indonesian rupiah in losses.
