Everest Re ups aggregate retro protection

Bermuda-based reinsurer Everest Re Group Ltd. has added a new aggregate property retrocession layer to its reinsurance program in the second quarter of this year to cover large or medium-sized catastrophe losses, Artemis.bm reports. John Doucette, president of Everest's reinsurance division, said that the retro protection will help the reinsurer to tap into new opportunities in the property segment at the Jan. 1, 2020 renewals.
