Blackout hits transport, mobile services in Indonesia

A massive power outage occurred on the Indonesian island of Java including Jakarta on Aug. 4, disrupting transport, mobile phone and cash machine services and affecting tens of millions of people, Channel News Asia reported. Government-owned utility Perusahaan Listrik Negara PT said that disruptions at its power plants in western Java caused the blackouts.
