Hub buys Massachusetts insurance agency

Hub International Ltd. on Monday said it has acquired Insurance Center of New England Inc.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With locations in Agawam and Gardner, Massachusetts, ICNE provides business insurance and group employee benefits services, as well as personal lines, and will expand Hub’s presence in western Massachusetts, Chicago-based Hub said in a statement.

ICNE has about 50 employees, according to its website.

Bill Trudeau, president and CEO of ICNE, will join Hub New England and report to Timm Marini, president of personal lines for Hub New England, according to the statement.

Hub International Ltd. is the world’s fifth-largest insurance brokerage, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
