Starr Insurance expands Defense Base Act coverage

Starr Insurance Agency Inc. announced Thursday that it will extend its Defense Base Act coverage to small federal government contractors.

The DBA coverage will include statutory federal workers compensation and employers liability insurance for contractors working abroad, according to Starr, a division of New York-based Starr Insurance Co. Inc. Medical evacuation and transportation services provided by World Travel Protection Pty Ltd. are also included in some coverages.

The company also offers foreign voluntary workers comp, accident and health, and kidnap ransom and extortion coverages.
