China's chemical industry crackdown hits global supply chains

An official said that China's crackdown on the chemical sector after a series of accidents is forcing many plants to cease production, disrupting global supply chains, South China Morning Post reported citing sources. Fu Xiangsheng, vice-chairman of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, said that strict inspection campaigns have forced international companies to look elsewhere for supplies or consider moving their operations out of the country.
