Protests disrupt production at coal mine

Protests have halted production at a Coal India Ltd. unit in the state of Orissa since July 23, and are likely to cost the miner 860 million Indian rupees ($12.5 million) in lost revenue, Bloomberg reported citing sources. The protests started after a landslide killed four workers at Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd.'s Talcher mine.
