Axa XL promotes Fumagalli to lead European financial lines

Insurer Axa XL has named  Simona Fumagalli as head of international financial lines for Europe, the Axa SA unit said Monday.

Ms. Fumagalli will be responsible for developing the business line’s underwriting strategies and product offering for Europe, Axa XL said in a statement.

Based in Milan, she will also remain in her current position as country leader for Italy until a successor has been appointed, the statement said.

Ms. Fumagalli became country manager for Italy in 2016 and was appointed as country leader for Axa XL’s insurance operations in Italy at the beginning of 2019, the statement said

Ms. Fumagalli also was a 2017 honoree of the Business Insurance Woman to Watch program.
