Rail operators struggle to cope with extreme heat

U.K.-based rail operators have canceled services and slowed down trains due to concern that extreme heat could damage the tracks and cause derailments, The Guardian reported. Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd. said that track temperatures could reach nearly 60 degrees Celsius and advised passengers against traveling on July 25.
