Irish insurance sector faces Brexit-related uncertainty

Paschal Donohoe, Ireland's finance minister, said that up to 59 U.K.-based or Gibraltar-based insurers could lose access to Irish clients if they fail to set up contingency arrangements for a hard Brexit, RTE.ie reported. Mr. Donohoe said that Irish policyholders could face higher premium rates and reduced choice if U.K. insurers are locked out of the Irish market post Brexit.
