RenRe's net income nearly doubles

Bermudian reinsurer RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd.'s net income grew 90% year-over-year to $368 million in the second quarter, The Royal Gazette reports. Gross written premiums rose more than 51% to $1.5 billion, driven by an increase of $213 million in the casualty and specialty segment and $287 million in the property segment.
