Peru declares emergency after volcanic eruption

Peru declared a state of emergency in 12 country's southern region districts and evacuated people from the cities of Puno and Moquegua after the Ubinas volcano erupted on July 18, Merco Press reported. The volcano spewed an ash column of about 5,000 meters, which enveloped several buildings in the region.
