NFP acquires Canadian broker

Brokerage NFP Corp. acquired Canadian broker McLean Hallmark Insurance Group Ltd. on July 2, NFP said in a statement Friday.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

McLean, based in Toronto, Ontario, with offices in Markham and Mississauga, Ontario, provides property/casualty coverage with a focus on trucking, car dealerships, moving and storage, marine and surety, the statement said.

Daryn McLean will become managing director of commercial insurance for NFP Canada and John Belyea will join NFP as senior vice president of integration, with both reporting to Marty Shaw, president of NFP Canada.

"Daryn, John and their team bring decades of experience in commercial business and specialty product offerings that align well with our focus on growth and delivering value to clients,” Mr. Shaw said in the statement.
