Brazil fines Alstom, Bombardier for price-fixing cartel

Brazil's competition regulator has fined France-based rail equipment maker Alstom S.A. and Canada-based aviation company Bombardier Inc. among other companies for illegally colluding on tenders for building metro lines and suburban trains between 1999 and 2013, The Jakarta Post reported citing sources. The regulator said that it fined 11 companies a total of 535 million Brazilian real ($140 million), accusing them of dividing the market and fixing prices in the tenders.
