Chipmakers look at alternative suppliers amid Japanese curbs

Ltd. and SK Hynix Inc. are looking to buy supplies from Taiwan or China after Japan imposed new laws requiring chemical firms to seek permission for exporting their products, Reuters reported. South Korean chipmakers imported $144 million worth of chemicals from Japan in the first five months of this year.
