Zurich taps Alison Martin to lead EMEA

Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. on Tuesday named Alison Martin CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa and bank distribution, succeeding Amanda Blanc who resigned last week.

The appointment is effective immediately and subject to regulatory approval, Zurich said in a statement.

Ms. Martin, who is based in Zurich, will also continue in her role of overseeing the group risk management function until a successor has been found, the statement added.

Ms. Martin joined Zurich from Swiss Re Ltd. in October 2017 and assumed the role of group chief risk officer in January 2018, the statement said. For the four years prior to joining Zurich, she was global head of life and health business management at Swiss Re.

Ms. Blanc recently left the role after serving a year and a few months.
