Berkley appoints reinsurance executive

W.R. Berkley Corp. said Monday it has named Daniel R. Westcott president of its Berkley Re America unit.
According to his LinkedIn page, Mr. Westcott was most recently chief operating officer, reinsurance, at the Navigators Group Inc. in Stamford, Connecticut, beginning in October 2016. He previously worked for more than 11 years as a reinsurance broker for Willis Re Inc.
Former Berkley Re America president Joe Sullivan was named executive vice president of W.R. Berkley Corp. in January, according to a spokeswoman for Greenwich, Connecticut-based Berkley. Berkley executive vice president Rob Hewitt has been acting president of Berkley Re America.
