Tornado causes widespread damage

A tornado hit the city of Kaiyuan in the province of Liaoning in northeast China on July 3, damaging more than 12 factories in an industrial park, 4,300 houses and 100 hectares of crops, Xinhua reported. Authorities said that the tornado caused power outages, disrupted transportation and killed six people.
