Regulator sues Samsung over ads for water-resistant phones

South Korea-based Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s Australian unit could face a stiff fine after Australia's consumer regulator sued the company for allegedly misleading customers by promoting water-resistant Galaxy smartphones, Reuters reported. Under the law, each violation after Sept. 1, 2018 can attract a fine of up to $7 million, triple the benefit of the conduct or 10% of annual turnover.
