South Korean firms exit China to mitigate political risks

Experts said that South Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. are downsizing their operations in China amid increasing political risk and potential tariff hikes, South China Morning Post reported. Samsung closed its production line in Shenzhen in May 2018 and shut its factory in Tianjin in Dec. 2018 while shifting its supply chains to Vietnam.
