Crawford buys Belgian loss adjuster

Claims management company Crawford & Co. has acquired Antwerp, Belgium-based loss adjuster Penta Expertise & Consult NV.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Penta, which was launched in 2003 and will continue to operate under its own name, provides loss-adjusting services for complex claims with a focus on the construction and engineering sectors, Atlanta-based Crawford said in a statement Wednesday.

Lieven Gurny, a Penta partner, was named managing director of Penta, and will report to Mike Jones, president of Crawford’s European operations, the statement said.

Penta has 11 surveyors and offices in Antwerp and Gent, according to the firm’s website.
