Firms stockpiled $8 billion of goods to avoid Brexit disruption

A survey by the U.K.'s Office for National Statistics found that local firms stockpiled an estimated £6.6 billion ($8.3 billion) worth of goods in the first quarter to avoid Brexit-related delays, shortages or price hikes, Yahoo News reported. The U.K. Warehousing Association said that Brexit-related uncertainty caused a shortage of storage space around big cities with three-quarters of warehouses filled up in the middle of January.
