Want safe roads? Brownsville, Texas, and Boise, Idaho, are the way to go, according to an annual study of safe roads in the United States.

Allstate Insurance Co. on Friday released its America’s Best Drivers Report just in time for the summer travel days, ranking the 200 largest U.S. cities by collision frequency based on the insurer’s claims data.

The remaining top 10 cities were, in order, Huntsville, Alabama; Kansas City, Kansas; Laredo, Texas; Olathe, Kansas; Fort Collins, Colorado; Overland Park, Kansas; McAllen, Texas; and Cape Coral, Florida.

For the first time, Allstate also tapped into its claims data to uncover “Risky Roads,” areas where claims frequency is greatest.

Where not to go? Baltimore, Maryland, grabbed the No. 200 spot for most dangerous drivers.
