QBE snags Munich Re executive as analytics leader

QBE North America named former Munich Re America executive Risa Ryan to be senior vice president, analytics, the specialist insurer said in a statement Monday.

Based in QBE’s New York office, Ms. Ryan will focus on strengthening QBE’s analytics strategy for North America and building a team to drive the use of modeling and analysis, the statement said.

Ms. Ryan was most recently head of strategy and analysis for Munich Re America. 

“Risa is a proven leader and talented insurance executive who is joining QBE with more than 20 years of leadership, data and analytics experience,” said John Beckman, chief underwriting officer, QBE North America.

Ms. Ryan was one of Business Insurance’s 2018 Women to Watch.
