African Union countries to pool resources to cover disaster risk

Member countries of the African Union plan to pool their financial resources to cover disaster risks such as drought, floods and extreme weather, Afrik21 reported. Under the program, South Africa-based insurer African Risk Capacity and its partners will provide insurance, identify the countries' risk profiles and set up a catastrophe risk management framework.
