Tokio Marine places UK business into run-off

Japan-based insurer Tokio Marine Holdings Inc. is placing its U.K. insurance business into run-off and plans to focus more on its Lloyd's of London syndicates, Verdict.co.uk reported. Under the reorganization, U.K.-based Tokio Marine Kiln Insurance Ltd. will stop writing new business, starting July 1. U.K.-based Tokio Marine HCC Insurance Holdings International Ltd. will write the insurer's Japanese business after Jan. 1, 2020.
